Product Description

Everflon™ ETFE 4010 is a special purpose fluoroplastic resin available in translucent, 2.5-mm (0.1-in) pellets. Compared with other grades of Everflon™, it has a higher flow rate.

Everflon™ ETFE 4010 and the other Everflon™ fluoroplastics are melt processible, modified copolymers of ethylene and tetrafluoroethylene. They are high-performance resins that can be processed at relatively high rates compared with fluorocarbon resins. They are mechanically tough and offer an excellent balance of properties. Table 1 shows typical property data for Everflon™ ETFE 4010.

The relatively high flow rate of Everflon™ ETFE 4010 makes it uniquely suitable for high-speed processing, especially for extruded coatings and injection molding of slender, thinwalled, or intricate shapes. Molded or extruded products made from Everflon™ ETFE 4010 are preferred for uses that do not involve significant flexural or tensile stress at elevated temperatures. Higher viscosity products such as Everflon™ ETFE 4010 and Everflon™ ETFE 4010 are preferred for these applications.

Properly processed products made from neat Everflon™ ETFE 4010  are inert to most solvents and chemicals, hydrolytically stable, and weather-resistant. The recommended upper service temperature is 150°C (302°F); useful properties are retained at cryogenic ranges. The level and stability of dielectric properties are excellent, and the flame rating is V-0 by the UL94 method. Mechanical properties include outstanding impact strength, cut-through, and abrasion resistance.

 


Everflon™ ETFE 4010 is ideal for many end products, including electrical components, such as sleeving, coil forms, sockets, connectors, and switches; lab ware, such as tubing, valves, containers, and fasteners; battery or instrument components that require chemical inertness; and mechanical parts.


 

Everflon™ ETFE (ethylenetetrafluoroethylene) is a melt processable fluoroplastic resin. Everflon™ ETFE fluoroplastics are ideal for wire coating and molding a wide variety of end use articles and components.

 

Everflon™ ETFE has a wide service temperature range with characteristics of other fluoroplastic resins; low flammability, chemical resistance, exceptional dielectric and electrical properties, superior mechanical toughness, abrasion resistance and environmental robustness.

 

Everflon™ ETFE fluoroplastic grades have a service temperature range of 150°C- 200°C. In addition to these upper service temperature ranges, Everflon™ ETFE also retains its useful properties at cryogenic temperatures.

 

While Everflon™ ETFE can be fabricated into solid shapes and molded articles it is best known as an industry leading product line in the wire and cable industry where it is used for wire coating and cable jacket fabrication. Everflon™ ETFE offers wire and cable OEMs a high performance fluoroplastic material with excellent electrical properties, ease of processing and extreme toughness.

With Melt Flow Rates (MFR) from 2 to 30, and a wide range of application specific grades, Everflon™ ETFE is uniquely positioned to offer exceptional performance in both general purpose, thin wall and wire and cable constructions.

 

Special Everflon™ ETFE grades are also available for special applications involving rotational molding and where static dissipative or adhesion properties are required.
